Move-in Morgantown

How to live in a college town.

Street Review: Irwin

Irwin Street is in a prime location for people who want to have easy access to Ruby Memorial Hospital or Milan Puskar Stadium.

There are plenty of housing options to choose from.  If you’re looking for a more quite community, the Georgetown Apartments are a good option.  Another option is Copperfield Court which is a little further on down the road.  The area seems a little more like a community in some aspects, because there are in fact residential homes very close.  It’s a good blend of regular Morgantown citizens and college students.

Again, being next to Ruby Memorial Hospital, a lot of people that chose to live here are often medical majors.

As far as the road itself, it’s a little tricky pulling in and out connecting to Don Nehlen Drive.  The issue is actually more with turning left as it’s hard to see oncoming traffic from the right.  But after doing it a few times you get a better feel and judgment for pulling out in that spot.  In the winter, it’s not usually too much of a problem as far as snow goes, but it’s certainly not on top of the list to get cleared off.  But overall, it’s not usually in too bad of shape.

So, if you want a little bit of college atmosphere with a little bit of partying, but still would like it to be quiet and more professional at other times, finding a place on Irwin Street is a good option.

And absolutely most important of all, you will already have your parking spot on game day; that’s a clincher for sure.
